Garden Walk

My new painting of a child taking  a little stroll down the garden path on a lovely spring day. I loved creating this piece. Designing all the different flowers was a lot of fun. I  came up with the concept in winter so it was very pleasant creating a springtime scene when it was so cold outside, kind of like day dreaming.

Passion Flowers, digital painting

I remember the first time I saw a passion flower. I had never seen such an exotic flower. It’s colors and structure were fascinating to me.   I love the way the tendrils of the vine reach out and spiral around the nearest branch or fence post. Since then I’ve always wanted to paint a passion flower vine  and there you have it the inspiration for this painting.

The Queen's Bird

I just completed this digital painting of a queen. The whole painting process was done digitally. I started by sketching it on my Wacom graphics tablet and then I painted it in using Corel Painter Essentials. I also did a bit of digital collage in Photoshop by adding antique floral prints to her clothing and my own photograph of some bare trees.  I’ve used collage and mixed media in my traditional work and now I can do it digitally as well. Quite a lot of fun!
